Cosmo Couture 2013

The IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter's Washington Metro City Center is pleased to announce this year’s Cosmo Couture fundraising event to be held on September 19, 2013 at the Artisphere in Arlington, Virginia. Cosmo Couture fosters a direct collaboration between local Architecture and Interior Design firms and their manufacturing partners in the Washington DC area, to create garments reflecting a given theme. The garments are judged during a runway show and awards are given to design teams in different categories.

We are honored to continue our long standing partnership with My Sister’s Place and have selected the organization, once again, as the beneficiary for our 2013 event. The IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter has donated over fifty five thousand dollars to My Sister’s Place in DC over the past three years. Our success has been the direct result of the generosity of all those who have given their continued support to our events.

We are also glad to continue a partnership between our Chapter and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.  Once again the Corcoran will assemble all of this year’s garments into an exhibit in their museum, to open shortly after the day of the Cosmo Couture event. For the second time, a team of students from the Corcoran’s Graduate Interior Design program will participate in our event and will present a garment on the runway.
